October NFP = 214,000

Last month, the unemployment rate fell to 5.756%. The economy created 214,000 net new jobs last month. Revisions added another 31,000.

Th economy is finally creating new jobs, not just watching people leave the workforce.

The jobs/civilian population percent is up to 59.23%. That’s the highest in more than five years. A year ago, it was down to 58.24%, so we’re seeing real improvement, but we have a long way to go.

Put it this way: to have the same jobs/population percentage as five years ago, we’d need to have 8.7 million more jobs, or 13.8 million fewer people.
