Value Has Underperformed for Eight Years

Check out this chart which shows the S&P 500 Value Index divided by the S&P 500. This shows that value stocks have lagged the overall market for more than eight years.

Some of this is because financial stocks are often put in the value bucket, and those stocks were not treated well during the financial crisis.
