September NFP = -33,000

The U.S. economy lost 33,000 net jobs last month. Of course, the hurricanes played a big role in that. This was the first negative month for NFP since 2010.

The unemployment rate fell to 4.2%. That’s the lowest rate since February 2001.

In the last year, average hourly earnings are up 2.9%.
