November CPI = 0.8%

This morning, the government reported that inflation rose by 0.78% for November. Wall Street had been expecting an increase of 0.7%.

Over the last year, inflation has increased by 6.88%. That’s the highest since June 1982.

The government also said that the core rate rose by 0.54%. That’s in line with Wall Street’s forecast of 0.5%.

The 12-month core rate is running at 4.96%. That’s the highest since May 1991.
